DJ Sebsan - Sebastian

High-energy mashups from hip hop to house

If you are wondering where the name Sebsan comes from, it is a simple abbreviation of Sebastian’s first and last name, Sánchez. He first used it for a singer songwriter project before bringing it into his life as a DJ. Now it represents a style that is energetic, thoughtful, and very crowd focused.

Sebastian grew up in a family that was always singing and dancing. His mother taught dance and fine arts, the radio was always on in the car, and music was a constant part of everyday life. That background led naturally into DJing. One moment that stands out for him is a cancer fundraiser at a nightclub where he played a disco set exactly as he had prepared it. After the show, a few guests told the promoter that his set was their favourite of the night, which made the whole experience feel especially meaningful.

As a DJ, Sebsan enjoys high energy sets that move between hip hop, house and different EDM genres. He likes to keep people on their toes with live mashups and stem mixing, taking the vocal from one track and blending it with the instrumental from another to create a fresh take on familiar songs. He also knows when to let a track play right through and when it is better to change things quickly, a sense that has come from years of experience on real dance floors.

For weddings and corporate events, he puts a lot of care into preparation. Client playlists, event schedules and overall mood all play a part in how he plans a night. He aims to deliver the songs people ask for, with a few smart surprises that sit right beside their favourites. He stays current through DJ leaderboards, setlists, SoundCloud, TikTok and by mixing newer tracks in between classics so the energy and nostalgia stay balanced throughout the event.

When he is not behind the decks, Sebsan is usually still around music. He attends many shows in and around Vancouver for both business and pleasure and documents those nights on social media. And if the crowd is right, you might hear him drop the ABBA classic “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” which he has seen work in just about any setting.
