DJ BlacAsphalt

Open-format DJ with a love for bouncy house music
If you are wondering where the name BlacAsphalt comes from, it is a clever play on Caleb’s name, with his first name backward and a nod to his last name. What stands out most, though, is what he brings to the decks: energy, versatility, and a real love of music.
Caleb’s musical journey started long before he ever touched a turntable. Growing up in a home filled with music, he played multiple instruments, marched in bands, and developed an appreciation for sound in all its forms. But it was meeting his favourite DJ that truly set things in motion. He went home the very next day and started teaching himself how to DJ, and the rest is history.
As an open format DJ, Caleb blends genres with ease, though he has a special love for bouncy, high energy house music, both nostalgic throwbacks and fresh new tracks. Whether it is a wedding dance floor, a corporate celebration, or a full-on party, his broad knowledge of music helps him read the crowd and keep the energy where it needs to be. He is also quick on his feet, so surprise requests, timeline shifts, or even a sudden rain shower will not throw him off.
More than just a DJ, Caleb believes in getting to know his clients beyond a song list. He takes time to understand the vibe, the guests, and the overall feel of the event so he can create the right soundtrack for the night. He is collaborative, thoughtful, and focused on making each event feel personal.
When he is not behind the decks, Caleb can usually be found thrifting for unique finds, winning trivia nights, or supporting other local DJs around town. His first CD was Boney M’s Greatest Hits, which says a lot about his appreciation for the classics. And yes, he fully endorses the 2021 remix of Rasputin.
